Southtown House
A warm welcome awaits you at Southtown House, an old stone farmhouse, in a quiet, slightly elevated location on the edge of the village of West Pennard with magnificent views over the Somerset levels and across to Glastonbury Tor.
We are a small, friendly, family run B&B. We have just 2 rooms, a double room with a four poster bed and a twin bedded room.
We provide a full English breakfast, a selection of cereals, fruit juice, fruit salad with fresh coffee or tea, and we will do our best to accommodate any special preferences or dietary requirements.
We are close to Glastonbury, about 3 miles and the Glastonbury Festival site is within walking distance - Just ! - or we offer transport to the site during the festival.
In Glastonbury you can visit the Abbey ruins, Chalice well and gardens, the Rural life museum and in the town you will find an amazing range of shops of different ethnic origins, selling crystals, jewellery, woodcarvings, Tarot card readings etc......,
Wells, with it's magnificent cathedral, Bishops palace and gardens and friendly Golf course, visitors welcome, is only a short distance and Bath with it's famous roman baths and theatre is about 45 minutes drive away.
Bristol, Weston super mare, Taunton and Yeovil are all within a short driving distance.
There are plenty of interesting country walks in the area and of course we are in the 'Vale of Avalon' famous for it's apples and the cider produced from them. There are a large number of local farms producing cider that you can visit and sample their wares ! There is a pub in the village full of character and low beams and in Glastonbury there are many more - some with a variety of live music events.
We have a very friendly (male) dog, a young staffy called Byron, and visiting dogs are welcome.
